From fashion design to honoring breast cancer survivors, Missouri has dedicated her journey to impact and purpose. A Trailblazer in Fashion
In her early twenties, Missouri’s talent was undeniable. She won the prestigious Designer of the Year award, earning an all-expenses-paid trip to Paris, the fashion capital of the world. Upon returning, she took the industry by storm, but producers quickly realized she wasn’t just a competitor—she was the main event. Instead of allowing her to compete, they hired her as the entertainment, and she delivered with a jaw-dropping showcase.
Missouri’s designs weren’t just garments; they were works of art. She created seven breathtaking cape ensembles—complete from shoes to gloves, with every detail meticulously crafted. Her models set the runway ablaze, and from 1984 to 1989, she became the highest-paid freelance fashion designer on the East Coast, with booked-out fashion shows every single weekend.
1992 Building on this success, she expanded into image consulting, launching MDS – Missouri Designs and Services. From New Jersey to New York, Atlanta to Canada, she curated wardrobes, styled executives, and developed lifelong client relationships. These connections, built on trust and authenticity, continue to be pillars of support for her vision today.
A Life-Altering Awakening
There are times when life moves at record speed, and deep inside, you know there’s more you are meant to do—but distractions, success, and obligations keep you from listening. Missouri was soaring, achieving milestones, yet something deeper was calling her.
Then, in 2010, life sent a message that could not be ignored.
A Stage 2 breast cancer diagnosis hit like a demolition truck, changing the trajectory of her life forever. It was then that Missouri’s soul journey began, bringing her back to the true path of her generational legacy impact.
The BIG show—the one she had declared as a child—was no longer a dream for “someday.” It was time.
A Legacy of Celebration
Missouri’s commitment to honoring women continued to evolve. In 2021, she launched the first annual GALA, honoring breast cancer survivors in the most regal way. Over the past four years, she and her “Team LOVE” has celebrated 31 phenomenal, thriving survivors, and in 2025, the fifth-anniversary celebration will be grander than ever.
The Journey of Missouri: A Legacy in Motion
1965 – A small beating heart became a live, a rebirth one would say and it happen on Christmas Day —a day of new beginnings, and unknowingly, the spark of Generational Legacy Impact. That Christmas, Missouri received her first Barbie doll from her mother, Ada, a simple gift that would change the course of her life forever. Inspired by her mother’s love for fashion and design, young Missouri began crafting outfits for her Barbie, displaying them proudly on a makeshift cardboard runway. It was during one of her childhood fashion shows that she boldly declared, “One day, I’m going to do a big show.”
Little did she know, a legacy had already been born within her.
Honoring Others: 2004-2006 The Birth of COLA
Missouri’s passion wasn’t just about fashion—it was about empowering others. Recognizing the importance of celebrating people while they are alive, she launched the Celebration of Life Awards (COLA). The inaugural event honored 30 incredible individuals for their extraordinary service within their communities. All honorees donned stunning red gowns, filling the Newark Library with an energy that would never be forgotten.
This act of honoring others became a defining theme in Missouri’s journey. It was more than an event—it was her purpose.
2011 She realized that while she had fought her battle with support and resources, many homeless women facing breast cancer had nowhere to turn. Thus, she dedicated herself to a new purpose—creating a safe haven for these women to heal, recover, and rebuild their lives.
A Place Called Love is now in capital fundraising mood —it will be a home where homeless women battling breast cancer can find shelter, care, and a path to self-reliance.
The Birth of STYLETAINMENT & A New Mission
In 2012, after surviving breast cancer, Missouri birthed her masterpiece:

The show was more than entertainment—it was a movement, a story of resilience, empowerment, and transformation. But Missouri knew this mission had to go deeper.
Her mission will not stop.
Missouri’s journey is a testament to the power of legacy—how it is lived, honored, and extended through impact. Every moment, every project, every initiative is tied to her Generational Legacy Impact Experience.
A Calling to Share the Wisdom
Missouri has fully embraced her generational legacy. She understands the global effect of our actions, the impact of our choices, and the importance of passing down wisdom.
